Professional Practice Assistant or Associate Professor of Veterinary Professional Skills Instruction

The Department of Veterinary Clinical and Life Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Utah State University is seeking applicants for a FY 12-month, 0.75-1.0 FTE Professional Practice Assistant or Associate Professor of Veterinary Professional Skills Instruction position (non-tenure track) with an assignment of 90% teaching and 10% service.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in introducing students to the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors tied to the development of their professional identity as future veterinarians. Responsibilities also include working with the team to design, develop, and deliver hands-on professional skills-related courses in the new Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree curriculum.
Minimum Qualifications: DVM or equivalent degree; and either experience teaching professional skills or at least 5 years experience in veterinary clinical practice.

Fulltime, Benefitted Lecturer

Utah State University’s Department of Animal, Dairy and Veterinary Sciences invites applications for a fulltime, benefitted Lecturer in the Veterinary Technology A.S. program, based on the Logan campus. This 9-month academic year appointment includes 95% teaching and 5% service.

The lecturer will provide hands-on laboratory and clinical instruction in veterinary technical skills, including clinical nursing, laboratory procedures, animal handling, companion and large animal care. Responsibilities include supervising teaching laboratories and clinical spaces, assessing student competencies, mentoring students, coordinating instructional activities with university animal units, and supporting curriculum implementation. Occasional in-state travel is required.

Minimum qualifications: Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) from an AVMA-accredited program; eligibility for Utah licensure; demonstrated clinical expertise; strong communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; and a valid driver’s license.

Professional Practice Assistant or Associate Professor Vet Tech Education


The Department of Animal, Dairy and Veterinary Sciences at Utah State University (USU) is seeking applicants for two non-tenure track faculty positions in its Veterinary Technology program. One full-time, fiscal-year position based in Logan, Utah will focus on small animal medicine and serve as Program Director. The second position, a 0.75 FTE fiscal-year appointment located in Blanding, Utah, will emphasize large animal medicine and veterinary service in rural communities. Both roles are primarily teaching-focused with a small service component and may be filled at the Assistant or Associate Professor of Professional Practice level, depending on qualifications. Faculty will contribute to a new hybrid, stackable Associate of Science degree program launching Fall 2026, designed to prepare students for the Veterinary Technician National Exam and allow pathways from certificate to bachelor’s degree.
