2018 Ballot

To vote in the 2018 Utah Veterinary Medical Association Election, please click on the button below and fill out the form.  Only one vote per membership number will be counted.  If you have questions as to what your member number is, please contact us at 801-377-2890 or email info@uvma.net.  Online ballots can be submitted until 12 noon (Mountain Time) on June 26, 2018.  Paper ballots must be received by June 22nd.  Election Results will be announced at the Membership Breakfast on June 27, 2018 at the CanyonLands Veterinary Conference.

2021-2022 UVMA President Nominees

Dr. Tonya Hardy

Dr. Hardy graduated from Louisiana State University Vet School and has been practicing veterinary medicine and surgery for over 20 years. She holds an MBA with an emphasis in Leadership and Management. She began her career in equine surgery and then switched to focus on small animal surgery. Throughout her career she has coached doctors, hospital leaders, and veterinary technicians. Her passion for animals always draws her back to the hospital where she utilizes her surgical and internal medicine skills. Dr. Hardy is skilled in numerous surgical procedures including orthopedics and reconstructive procedures. Dr. Hardy loves to help the local shelters in Park city, the Humane society and does fund raisers for various animal groups through out the year.

She has a loving husband, Anthony, 2 golden retrievers, Chesney and Memphis, and a polydactyl cat named Digit.

Dr. Kara Tassone

Born and raised in Ogden, Utah, Dr. Kara Tassone completed her DVM at St. George’s University in 2007 and spent her clinical year at the University of Illinois. through an internship at the Animal Referral and Emergency Center of Arizona, Dr. Kara spent time with veterinary specialists in a variety of arenas, including radiology, surgery, emergency medicine, oncology, cardiology, and dermatology. She has been practicing in Utah since 2009 at Animal Care Center and K-9 Rehabilitation.  In veterinary school Kara had the opportunity to serve as president of the Student AVMA where her passion for organized medicine continued to grow.  Dr. Kara loves working with the Utah Veterinary Medical Association and has served as her district representative and on several committees.  She looks forward to the future of the greatest profession in the world.  Her motto has always been “lead to inspire” because she believes that we should all take every opportunity to better the world around us—no matter what we are passionate about.

Dr. Kara and her husband, Dr. Michael Lemmon, share their home with their daughter, three dogs and one cat.  She enjoys riding motorcycles, hiking, camping, working in the yard, and doing anything that keeps her family outside in the fresh air.

2019-2020 UVMA Treasurer Nominee

Dr. John Farrer

Dr. Farrer lives in Saratoga Springs.  He completed veterinary school at Colorado State University in 1996 and went on to complete a large animal medicine and surgery internship at Texas A&M University before returning home to Utah to practice.  He worked for South Valley Large Animal Clinic before making a transition to small animal practice.  With the motivating support of his “cheerleader” and wife of 23 years they started Saratoga Springs Animal Hospital in 2005. Their practice has grown with the community, leading to the construction of a new hospital facility scheduled to open next month.

They have 5 sons, 3 horses, 2 dogs, and 1 cat. Their sons keep them active in sports and the outdoors.
